Decor that makes you HAPPY

The pandemic has really changed how we live in our homes and some of us also work there too. Let’s face it we are spending more time at home than ever. The choices you make when selecting decor should make you happy and be functional. If when you come through the door you don’t feel a sense of calm and happiness it’s time to make some changes. Hang up mirrors opposite windows to reflect light and make your spaces feel bigger and lighter. Paint the space with clean bright whites or proven happy colors like Skylight from Farrow and Ball. Diffuse some good scents, and bring in some plants, they have great health benefits. Hang up artwork that makes you happy or add in some sentimental mementos to remind you of happy times. Make comfort and coziness a priority and invest in some really great throws and comfy lounge clothes. Light some candles and give yourself a break.

Styling Tip:

Layer Tonal Shades

Using multiple shades of the same color makes a room look polished and pulled together. Layer colors of the same hue while adding texture and subtle pattern to the mix. You really can’t get it wrong. Start with the sofa adding hues with pillows, and throws, keep the tone with structural pieces and artwork. The grounding pieces such as side tables and the coffee table should be kept in similar hues. You could even paint a piece to match a statement wall in the room, especially if you’re into a little DIY. I have always loved a great tonal space, they give off a sense of calm and who couldn’t use that?
