Several Ways to Make Your Bedroom feel Like a Hotel, And A Good One.

You know the feeling, you’ve just checked in to a really great hotel and you cannot believe how cool your room is, you want to jump on the bed and take it all in. What is it that makes the room so great? Well, here are a few things that make that hotel room feel better than your bedroom at home and how you can remedy that.

Add a statement bed. Statement beds give the eye something interesting to look at immediately upon entry. They add a statement that most bedrooms don’t get, plus it helps break up that white boxy room. It also makes the most sense because it’s the biggest piece in the room and will take up the most space.

Add a statement wall in addition to the statement bed. Most hotels have both. The feature wall should draw your eye to the bed wall for high impact. This could be a batten board wall, wood slats, paint or wallpaper, just make sure your wallpaper is low on contrast so your eye knows where to go.

Symmetry is important. Symmetry doesn’t mean boring, it’s pleasing to the eye. Hotel rooms offer symmetry by using a balanced approach. Bed, two nightstands, two light fixtures or lamps and fewer visual surprises. Your eyes know what to expect, so use some color and texture to add interest.

Comfortable splurges. Hotels have three important things that are important if you want that hotel vibe. Sheets and bedding that are above average. A comfortable upholstered chair or seating, add a small seating area if you have the space, and of course a really great mattress. A good mattress changes your sleep and transports you to a whole new dimension.

Window treatments. Dress up your windows, not over the top but give them some sheers and layer in a blackout curtain, now your’e talking good sleep.
