Amazing Dupes For Decor + Furniture, + my fresh prickly pear margarita.

Lifestyle 101

I have rounded up some of my favorite dupes in home decor, furniture and more! Sometimes spending extra is completely worth every penny and if it’s timeless or you want to pass it down to family then spending the extra few bucks might be worth it. On the other hand, if you are looking for a “look” or trying to evoke a feeling sometimes a dupe can be the perfect fit. Here are just a few to inspire you!

Hermés Throw

The Hermés Avalon Throw Blanket is as iconic as they come. From the brand's signature H logo to the thick wool and cashmere blend, these blankets depending on which style you choose can run from $1625 - $4250. Here are a few dupes that will be easy on your bank account and you’ll still get that luxury glow up you’re looking for.

The Dupe

This dupe is just $49 and will definitely give your sofa a little upgrade and it’s made of wool.

The Stone Vitruvi Essential Oil Diffuser

I have the original and I bought her because you couldn’t find a natural-looking diffuser that wasn’t plastic and an eye sore sitting next to all my pretty decor. I love my Vitruvi and have it in white and clay. Retails for $123.

The Dupe

This Amazon dupe is just $39.99 and comes in 5 colors. In this instance I can’t imagine leaving my Vitruvi behind, but if spending $123 on a diffuser sounds ridiculous to you, you can always swap out for this dupe. I must say when I used to spend less on a diffuser I replaced them so often and once I was gifted the Vitruvi I haven’t had to buy another one yet!

The Nordic Knot Pillow

Highly acclaimed Icelandic product designer Ragnheiður Ösp Sigurðardóttir developed the iconic Knot Pillow in 2011, and it's no surprise this innovative, Nordic design is currently everywhere. With its $145 price tag, this accessory sure is gorgeous, but it certainly isn't the most affordable.

The Dupe

On Etsy you can find so many variations of the knot. I love this boucle version in aesthetically pleasing colors! Just $56. Etsy also has a ton of other fun pillows if you search for the knot pillow you’d be surprised at how many fun options pop up!

Le Labo’s Santal 33

Le Labo's Santal 33 has been an iconic scent for years, and it's no secret why. It's a rich fragrance akin to an old Marlboro ad with all the "spirit of the American West," as the brand says. It has an "addictive comfort" to it, with notes of sandalwood, cedarwood, cardamom, iris, and violet, along with hints of leather and musk. Retails for $82.

The Dupe

Some say this one is almost better and definitely worth a try! My daughters and I used to say, someone light “the man candle” and this one takes me right back there! The price is right at $36.

With a charmingly woodsy aroma, Santalum is a well-loved concoction that’s our take on a classic sandalwood-focused scent. To the nose, notes of sawdust, timber, and clove give a unique depth to the fragrance that evokes the serene enchantment of a walk through the forests of the Redwood National Parks. The dry, aromatic freshness of papyrus, palo santo, and amyris work in harmony with the spice of cardamom and amber resin to create a scent that’s seasonless and enticingly complex.

The cult Favorite personal and home brand, Aesop

Amber glass bottles, undeniably chic and minimalistic these woody scents and luxury soaps make a statement next to any sink in your home. Retails at $45

The Dupe

Over at Burke Decor, you can find the Meraki Hand Soap in Northern Dawn that is fragrant with scents of orange and cedarwood, a worthy Aesop alternative at almost half the price of the original. Retails at $31

Barefoot Dreams Throw

The classic Barefoot Dreams blanket is a favorite among influencers and celebs. I can’t imagine tv night without mine, but I have the dupe and if the real thing is better I can’t imagine because I’m pretty territorial about mine! The classic comes in lots of colors, patterns and there’s a kids line too. Retail $180

The Dupe

Another Amazon dupe, this is the one I have and it also comes in 6 colors and is $39.98.

The Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman

One of the most iconic design of the 20th century, the Eames Chair + Ottoman is so good. Here is one of those times where if you can afford the original it’s worth every penny. This is a timeless piece, like a classic Chanel bag it never goes out of style! She retails for a cool $5520.75

The Dupe

At Wayfair you can pick up this dupe for $1400, that’s about 1/3 of the price for the same vibe and style.

The Barba Chair

This viral piece of furniture took TikTok by storm when users started making and buying affordable dupes of this name-brand beauty, which draws influence from Andreas Engesvik's iconic Barba Chair. Retails for $999 at Crate & Barrel.

The Dupe

Leave it to Amazon, here’s yet another dupe! This compact chair with a smooth gliding 360-degree swivel metal base is a brilliant home pick.

Fresh Prickly Pear Margaritas

I was inspired to make Prickly Pear margs recently as the fruit (tunas) are ripe and ready for picking! It’s the perfect desert drink! I wanted to try making the real thing and I’m so glad we did, they were so delish and I think I’ll try a sorbet next and maybe even just some frozen cubes to have on hand for drink making. 🌵

Don’t worry, if you don’t happen to have a prickly pear cactus nearby your local grocery store should have them on hand. 🛒

Picking The Fruit

Just grab some tongs and pop the pink tuna from the cacti, the spines are fine so try not to touch them too much.

To prepare them and remove the spines (the prickly part) just throw in a colander and run under water on high pressure, tossing them around together will brush them off. Believe me, this is easier than skinning them.

Blend Those Babies Up!

Any blender should work but a higher powered blender will be best, I used my Vitamix. Just throw them in with about 1/3c. of water and blend.

Strain!

Look at the color! Amazing, right? Pour all the fruit through a mesh strainer.

Squeeze

Next, pour the fruit into a nut milk bag or cheesecloth and squeeze until all of the juice is out. This seems harder than it is, and I promise it’s worth it! You can toss out what is left in the bag and get on to making a cocktail!

She’s a looker…

It’s a summertime favorite and I hope you enjoy it too! 🌵
