Whatever you use your entertaining space for sometimes a traditional sofa just doesn’t provide enough seating. A U-shaped modular sofa might be your answer. Picture your family and friends cuddled up for movie night or game night. The great thing about a modular sofa is most of them are completely customizable to fit your space. You can actually change the shape, increasing the versatility of the piece. In fact, they are so comfortable that many offer a sofa sleep option as well. Let’s take a look;

I love this sofa for its clean lines and geometric-shaped armrests. This comes in several options making it smaller or much bigger. It also comes in 3 standard colorways and 27 custom color options, including bouclé. I die. Did I say how much I love this sofa?

Jackson Posh Modular Sofa $1766

This is a cozy modular sofa that has “cloud” vibes for much less. It comes in two shades of white and has a solid wood frame. Who doesn’t want to nap on this one?

Boho meets leather for a great small space sofa. Each piece can be moved to fit your space. It has nomadic vibes and wipes clean for your messy moments and she’s a great price!

Perfect your modern space with this minimalist modular. Long, lean, super deep 4pc. sectional. The clean silhouette has a fresh, casual vibe with European appeal. Luxe white microvelvet fabric plays well against contrasting white oak and you can bet the function is top-notch.

This one is a statement maker and has a young fresh vibe. Beanbags just got a glow up! It can be configured several different ways making it versatile.

I love this sofa in the standard leather option, but it also comes in 17 other standard colors and 41 custom options. You can even buy it without one of the armless chairs to make it a bit smaller. This modern sofa changes depending on the fabric choice and can feel uber-modern or more traditional just by color and fabric choice.

This gorgeous modular won’t be forgotten, I love the bold color which is saying something since I’m definitely a neutral girl. This one comes in nearly 100 fabric choices and she is really pretty, don’t you think?

Bold in its soft shape and gentle edges, the Bryant Collection features the building blocks to style your home in extreme comfort. Begin adding and changing pieces into one-of-a-kind combinations that will grow with you and your space forever. This one looks like I need a nap.

Touted as the most comfortable sofa ever this one gives you many options for configuration, is kiln dried to stand the test of time and the deep seat and plush cushions make you want to snuggle in for a great movie.

This streamlined low profile sofa with flange seaming is easy to reconfigure to match your space perfectly. The pit style is great for a family that watches movies or has extra guests.

Roasted Brussel Sprouts In Balsamic Reduction

This is a great weeknight addition to any meal but I am particularly fond of it on my Thanksgiving table. It’s crispy, healthy, garlicky, and the cheese and cherries really bump up the balsamic flavor, it really is special. I think adding some prosciutto toward the end of baking would be really tasty will add a little salt to the sweet cherries. I also love the natural organic display when it’s time to serve. I hope you love it as much as we do. Gobble, gobble. 🦃

Dave gave this one 5⭐️’s!

Dried Citrus Garland

Who knew some oranges, bay leaves and wooden beads could make such a beautiful citrus garland?! They are fragrant, cheerful and ooooh the color!

Get Ready For Your House To Smell Like Citrus!

Last week I had this huge urge to make citrus garlands for this year’s holiday decor. The great part is you can get started now and use them for both Thanksgiving and Christmas! I started with 1 5lb. bag of oranges and I already know I’ll be back for 2 more as I plan to use them throughout my decor, and if you dry them properly they will last year after year.

Slice your oranges into 1/4” slices and layout on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or even better a cookie sheet with a cooling rack set inside. Set your oven to 175 degrees and load up the oven and set your timer for 5 hours. The key is low and slow. Since all ovens are different I would check them periodically, mine took closer to 6 hours. It’s okay if some get darker, the òmbre effect is still pretty but try not to burn them too much as you want that bright vibrant hue.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5-10lbs of navel oranges

  • 4oz. bay leaves (I bought mine here)

  • 15mm & 20mm wooden beads (I bought this bag)

  • waxed cotton thread or strong cotton thread

  • cotton tassels ( I made mine using embroidery floss, see how here in a previous blog.)

  • embroidery needle

  • scissors

Designing With Neutrals

Achieving balance in your interior is easy with a neutral color palette. But, there are a few rules to keep it looking its best. I think when you are using a neutral color palette, which by the way is my favorite, is to make sure you have incorporated lots of texture. I like to layer them in with woods, chunky knits, linens, plants and don’t forget to bring some nature inside.

You can still use pattern in your textiles but look for things like natural patterns, and organic shapes. Ceramic, stone, and leather can also bring in texture and interest.

Neutrals don’t have to be all beige. Bring in tones of taupe, muted greens, chocolate browns, and muted colors from outdoors. I love using clay colors in our home as they lead straight outdoors to the desert.

As a general rule, however, neutral color ideas tend to be calming and easy to decorate with – they work with pretty much every other color but to get it right it’s important to understand the base pigment that suits the light that a room receives.

'The light in a room is a key consideration when thinking about whether to choose warm or cool tones,'

There is a difference between a warm neutral (with a green or yellow undertone) which will tend to work well in north-facing rooms as they help to bounce the light around and a cool one (with a bit of pink, violet, or blue).

Have fun with it!
