Product Of The Week: All the summer clothes I just bought at Zara and I’m loving!

Knit Sweater Vest - $39.90

This oversized vest is cute with denim shorts or thrown over your bathing suit at the pool. I sized up for a boyfriend vibe. You can get yours here.

Print Dress - $49.90

This was a bold and fun move for me. It turns out it’s too warm to wear in the desert right now but I know I’ll get good use out of it in the fall. I wore it in Seattle with a chunky sandal and gold jewelry and it definitely felt like Spring. It comes in a few color ways as well. Click here to take a look.

Ivory Gauze Dress - $49.90

This dress is so cute and girly. It is on the short side so nude boy shorts are a must! Once again, loaded it up with some layered gold necklaces and the chunky jute sandal below. Grab one here.

Striped Knit Short - $25.90

This darling short also has a complimenting knit top. My equally darling daughter Amanda bought me these among other goodies for my birthday! Love them! Find yours here.

Black Romper - $39.90

I really love the modern vibe to this one piece romper and it’s also great because basically you are dressed in two seconds! I often need something that is on the job site appropriate but also cool enough for our hot weather. It’s 120 here today! I paired mine with a chunky patten leather Doc Martin sandal and of course gold jewelry. You can browse one here.

Puff Sleeve T-shirt - $19.90

LOVE this little white tee. She can be casual or dressed up. I’ve been wearing mine with denim shorts and even denim overalls and I love the little unexpected pop the sleeve gives to my everyday outfits. Plus, Dave calls me Snow White when I wear this, and I’ll take it. Definitely get yours here.

Woven Jute Sandal - $79.90

I also LOVE this sandal. I love the natural vibe they bring to any outfit. I throw them on for store runs or with a dress for dinner. Easy on, cute and affordable, what more can a girl ask for? Find your size here.

Recipe Of The Week:

poptail!.jpg

Blood Orange Poptail

I was recently in Seattle and visited Pablo y Pablo for dinner and brunch and I’d probably be sitting there right now if I was still in Seattle because I had one of the best margs of my life, not too mention the amazing food. When I got home I decided to to try and recreate that marg but add a twist by using the new and fun poptail trend. Isn’t she pretty? Well she tastes great too! Can’t wait to add these to our next event!

All The Things You Need To Make A Blood Orange Poptail

blood orange slices.jpg

Assemble Your Poptail

Slice your blood orange and drop one into each popsicle mold. I cut mine in half . Once frozen, I left mine in the freezer overnight, pop them out of the mold and make your drink. I used my lime wedge to do the side of the glass in tajín like Pablo y Pablo for the perfect presentation! Cheers!

DIY Casa Bead Tutorial

This is a very simple craft that almost anyone can do. You will need:

  • Satin Terracotta Paint

  • 25mm wood beads

  • Jute

  • Hot Glue Gun

I bought my beads and jute on amazon and picked up the terracotta paint at Lowe’s. You could use any color paint but I love the terracotta here in the desert. You could also go natural and just string the beads. I have lots of those!

Paint Your Casa Beads

Set up a large cardboard box or anything you don’t care about throwing away! Leave enough space to get all along the sides of each bead. They dry really fast. I used 50 beads.

casa bead 2.JPG

Paint The Other Side

Once they are dry, mine took about 5 minutes. Flip and paint the other side, make sure they are fully painted!

casa bead 3.JPG

Aren’t They Beautiful?

Now they are ready to string!

String The Casa Beads

I sprayed 50 beads and made two strands of casa beads with 25 each. I like mine shorter but you could also do all 50, just depends on where you want to style them in the end. I find 25 sit nicely on the top of books and shelves. Once you have strung the beads tie a knot at the end close to the bead and leave 2-3 inches of jute on each side.

casa bead 5.JPG

Let’s Make The Tassels!

I used a piece of cardboard about 5 inches long. Wrap the jute around the cardboard approximately 35 times.

Wrap Those Tassels

Cut a long piece of jute and wrap once around jute closer to one end and knot.

Finishing The Tassel

Using the jute you knotted, continue to wrap it around the tassel and use a small bead of hot glue to secure. Once those are dry, cut the larger ended loop creating a little tassel bottom. I like to trim mine so they are all one length. Now use the length you left on the beaded garland and thread it through the top loop and tie a knot. Trim any excess.

BOOM! You Did It!

Isn’t she so pretty?!?!

Style It Up!

Here she is styled on some books. Add them to your shelves, books, coffee table, bathroom tray…. it’s really endless.

Organizing Tip:

Five Home Organizing Tips Under $100

  1. Makeup Makeover: Save time getting ready by organizing your makeup counter. With a little makeup organization you can find your lipstick and have a de-cluttered countertop, it’s a win-win.

  2. Free Up Space In the Fridge: Enjoy stress free meal prep and avoid buying duplicates when you organize and use bins in your fridge and freezer. Plus, name one person that doesn’t love a pretty fridge. Go ahead, I’m waiting.

  3. Tame The Toys: Consider trying some fun and safe ways to organize the toys and craft supplies that will free up space and help the littles put their toys away.

  4. Contain Your Cabinets: I bet you don’t realize how much lost real estate is in your existing cabinets. Use stacking shelves and pull-out drawers to make the most of your space.

  5. Matching Hangers: This is one of the best ways to elevate your closet, matching hangers! Get rid of old hangers from the dry cleaner and take the time to make some donations while you transfer your clothes to all new hangers.

Thank you for starting your Friday with me! xoxo
