Farrow and Ball’s 2022 Color Trend Predictions

British paint and wallpaper company Farrow & Ball predicts that we're going to stick to the simple and the familiar — colors that make us feel alive.

"There is something inherently human in the colours that we are attracted to for 2022, as well as in the way we use them," Joa Studholme, Farrow and Ball's color curator, said in a statement.

For the 2022 palette of five trending colors, Studholme has pulled inspiration from folk art and craftsmanship, looking to "extol the virtues of a simple life." She's also made sure each of the five hues work together, making it easy to incorporate a combination of them into the home.

"They are an eclectic mix of the pure and the humble that evokes the warmth and harmony of a more innocent age while celebrating life today," said Studholme. "Function goes hand in hand with ornament, using colours and finishes in unusual ways to celebrate the principles of utility, kindness, and honesty."

So, without further adieu, Farrow & Ball’s 2022 colors of the year.

  1. Babouche No. 223

“Babouche takes its exotic name from the distinctive color of the leather slippers worn by men in Morocco. It has a cheerful brightness that will intensify when used in large areas, but it is always dignified and never garish. Babouche can be paired with Railings for a very modern but sumptuous effect.”

2. School House White No. 291

“This is the lightest color in the group including Shadow White, Shaded White and Drop Cloth - each created to look like white when used in deep shade. Pared back, timeless and familiar without the cool undertones of the more contemporary neutral groups, this soft off white is reminiscent of the color used in old school houses.”

3. Breakfast Room Green No. 81

“Breakfast Room Green is the most cheerful of all our greens, remaining lively in both bright sunlight or softer candlelight. Named after the usually east facing rooms designed for eating the first meal of the day, it is particularly beautiful in the dawn light. When used alone on both walls and woodwork it becomes incredibly striking.”

4. Stone Blue No. 86

“This warm and timeless blue is named after the indigo pigment which was often imported in lumps in the 18th century. Stone Blue’s lively and saturated color can be used alongside warmer tones such as Pelt to create an inviting vintage look, or the cooler Mole's Breath for a cleaner, more contemporary feel. When contrasted with Dimpse woodwork, however, it feels both distinguished and familiar.”

5. Incarnadine No. 248

Our richest crimson originally takes its name from Latin, but is now a much used term for crimsons and reds. Similar to the deep glossy red used by David Hicks at Barons Court in the 1970s, Incarnadine is unashamedly classic and glamorous. It can be used to sumptuous effect in halls when offset with Tanner’s Brown on woodwork, or feel more edgy and graphic when paired with a bright white.

Product Of The Week:

Untamed by Glennon Doyle

I’m a reader, there I said it, I love getting my hands on good reads, and definitely plowed through some amazing reads over the Covid year of 2020. This one was really empowering, and I could hear my own voice or that of my daughter’s as I read through it, in fact I need to send each of them a copy.

There are SO many take-aways, I must have dogeared half the book! I love how she so unapologetically puts women and their needs first. Whether you agree with her life choices or not, she is really thoughtful, and honest about her struggles and she translates them into words that all of us can relate to. Her raw and real tales of motherhood, bulimia, addiction and divorce were profound reminders that we all have struggles and the beauty is in the mess.

Floral

Over the Labor Day weekend we had so much fun making floral arrangements and the debut of our new charcuterie cups for a LA event for PotGirl Summer 420.

What was truly a fun adventure was shopping for our floral in the sea of vendors in the DTLA flower district. There were so many varieties to choose from, and some unusual one’s as well. These are a few arrangements from the bar area, we used a combination of real and dried elements, creating height with some tropical greens, dried palms, and then of course fresh flowers.

The event highlighted female entrepreneurs, with booths set up and all kinds of amazing handmade items, such and clothing, pillows, jewelry, macramé, and gems stones. It was such a great place to come together with other women who love to create.

Our New Charcuterie Cups

These little ladies made their debut, and have been added to our line-up. Great for parties, and corporate events. We loved how they turned out, not only do they taste good but they sure draw a crowd, cuz they were stunners! :)
