Work travel, How to bring texture to your dining room, Thai Chicken you will want to make over and over again, How to re-vamp your magazine storage and more.

I’m off for a week of organizing and finalizing design plans for two separate clients. Can you guess where I’m going? I’m headed home to Seattle! This is my first trip back home since the on-set of covid and I have mixed feelings. First David isn’t coming with me which makes this the first time we’ve been separated for more than a few days in over 9 years, also, this trip will be more work than play and I’m going to legit miss my desert home.

When did this happen, this thing where I’m super content just being home? I think during covid I had so much time to really dial in our home that I really just wanted to stay in it, like always! The weather is warm, and it’s all the good safe warm and fuzzy feels. It makes me aware of how our homes have changed since covid began and how most of us have really connected with what it is we love in a space and what makes us feel good there.

Also, if you didn’t know I will travel to you and get your house in order! From organization to interior design and everything in between, I’d love to help YOU! Our list of services is here. I’m looking forward to sharing some before and afters with you. :)

Wool Dryer Balls (Set of 3)

I can’t believe I haven’t told you guys about these yet, maybe you already have them but I LOVE them and here’s why.

I don’t need to buy dryer sheets any longer and that means I don’t dry chemicals into all the clothing we wear. Ya, chemicals are bad folks.

They last for 1000 loads. Yes, you read that right. They are also made out of 100% pure New Zealand wool. Wool Dryer Balls separate clothes to allow more air to them, eliminating post-cycle wrinkles and reducing drying time by 25% per load, which in turn reduces energy.

Lastly, I love to add a few drops of essential oils like lemon citrus or lavender to each wool ball making our laundry smell oh so good! I get mine here but you can almost get them everywhere now. Go!

Three Easy Ways To Bring Texture To Your Dining Room

There are lots of fun ways to add texture to your dining room and the first obvious one is chairs, and I am loving rattan.

Another great option is pendant lights, there are so many great one’s available right now from modern, bold and whimsical, seagrass is hitting it’s stride and I’m here for it!

Don’t forget rugs, from jute, braided and textured and sculpted the biggest decision is which one?

Next on the list is wall hangings and the options are endless. Loomed wall hangings, basket bowls, and raffia fans are all on the top of my list.

But, the easiest way still is by adding in some greenery . This one you can do today, just make sure you place it in a textured basket!

Revamp Your Magazine Storage

If you are anything like me I CANNOT handle clutter, like it actually makes me feel like my life is falling apart. 😬So, I personally get rid of magazines and catalogs as soon as they are consumed. Unless it’s the September issue of Vogue that is, and if you know, then you know. 😉Take a few minutes to set up an organizational system for your favorite titles. Commit to storing only the most recent issues (six months is a good guideline) and recycle the rest. If there's a certain story you want to keep beyond the six-month period, tear that page out and file it...there's no need to keep the entire issue. Mine are often recipes which I tear out and slide into a page protector and store in a pretty three ring binder near my favorite cookbooks. Just start, you can do it. The worst thing in a home is stacks of old magazines, de-clutter that stuff now!
